Winter Solstice and the future

Hello, friends!

Christmas has been around again (As it does fairly punctually every year, I might add, to it's credit) and just so as to not leave anyone out I simply wish everyone a happy solstice as it's something that all people can agree on (Because, y'know... facts over tradition.)

As a result, starts a kind of new chapter to my life I like to call 'The Owl Years'. As is my favour to not wearing real clothes for 80% of my life, I asked good old Father Christmas (also known personally and Mother and Father Sweet) for an Owl Kingurumi. Sazac Kingurumis are awesome because they are sickeningly comfortable, and well made, and also I'm a god damn owl.

So seeing as I will be wearing this most of the time through the last of my undergraduate days and the first of my real working days when I'm gonna be writing some of my main stuff in the aims of being published and what not, these are the Owl Years which will make or break me.

Christmas was decent and not having a computer gave me time to do some other things. Put some stuff in perspective for me, so to speak. My main view, now, is to get back to productivity and work harder and longer on my degree than I have done for anything I've ever done before. I'm reading and learning about writing quite passively at the moment, but it's all beneficial. So when I do start writing my own stuff again, I'm thinking it's going to be good, and I have quite a decent plan, too, that involves a lot of my work being free for everyone to view on the internet. So watch this space.

Though really long and boring when I couldn't work stuff out, so I've put in lots of jump cuts. It gets really interesting by around episode 3 and there will be a new video each day for a week. Affirmations and Dissertations!

Hello!

   As of Thursday, I completed the first half of my third year essays, and simply only have three exams, four essays and a dissertation left to go. Instantly I began finishing my editing for the Anna Let's Play videos and I will be honest, I already understand the mistakes I made when filming and editing it, so I know where to improve in the future. For now though, I'm hoping you'll enjoy them as much as possible in all their dull glory when they come out in a few days time.
    As far as my dissertation goes, I'm finishing off the plan over Christmas where I have to think of loads of examples because about 70% of it comes down to me explaining examples. My lecturer, John, however seems to be interested in my essay and after telling me I'm exceptionally clever, admitted mine could be the one given to the external invigilator - he clearly has more faith in me than I do... No pressure then.



   With regards to subject matter, my dissertation is a moral language essay, playing Old Harry with the fact / value distinction so if you want to help with that, you can!
I need examples of the following things:

• A Simple Fact (a property of something that can be known empirically): E.g. 'Snow is white'. 'Water is wet'. 'Doors are solid'. Etc.
• An Evaluative Statement (Something that would motivate us to seek or avoid action): E.g. 'This is poison'. 'You might cut yourself'. 'Please help me!', Etc.
• A mixture of the two (something that is a fact and might motivate, particularly morally): E.g. 'Cruelty is bad'. 'Rudeness can offend'. 'Strawberries are sweet'. Etc.

If you have any examples you can think of and would like to help me out, throw them my way and I'll evaluate the extent I might be able to use them. Even if I don't use them, it'll be a massive help and greatly appreciated, so please do. Obviously, I do not want to use the ones I have already put as they have already been previously written in texts.

Hello!

Well, I'm still fully focused on these 3rd year essays I'm writing at the moment. But my head is filled with empty promises about projects that my brain station is working on. I'm thinking of doing some non-fiction philosophical works (On relationships, philosophy, education, etc., hopefully will be some good advice and profound words) that'll go up in both text and vlog form, I have a dark humour sketch ready in my head and my horror lets play will be on Youtube around Christmas time. I have a leatherbound notebook filled with writing works in progress and I'm unsure which I'll be releasing on here for free when they're done or keeping back for more monetary work.
